It's raining earrings!

I am adding more earrings to the SharonArt shop, after selling almost all of the first batch.

The price range is 16$-20$. I hope these also sell well, so I will have an excuse to make more. I do enjoy making these, even though it is not easy (myself and delicate tweezers, is not a good combination). I am completely hooked on these dark blue-black Czech glass beads, they sparkle so beautifully, they really were a great find.

Happy Passover!

Today is Passover Eve, time to celebrate with family and wash tons of indigestible foods down with plenty of red wine.

Love is in the air

This week has been a most exciting week at our home. For months I heard about her, but we never met. Then, last week Pinky set me and mamisha down for a serious talk. He said they are in love, and have a great respect for each other, and asked if we will object if he asks her to move in with him. Mamisha and I looked at each other, and mamisha immediately said "I will call her to invite her!". Needless to say, there was much happy crying and hugging after that.

And so, this Monday she arrived, with her gazillion pairs of high heeled shoes, laptop and gorgeous smile.

Barbie is working as model, as you could probably guess

Usually models date soccer players, but the more intelligent
ones prefer choreographers, who are just as fit

Barbie and Pinky love to sit together after the workday is done

Sometimes, Pinky gives her one of his famous foot massages
(which we all grew to treasure)

Much to our suprise, Barbie turned out to be just as silly as Pinky
which makes their relationship even stronger. She changes a lot of my
misconceptions about beautiful women, I have to say

I bet he'll pop the question soon!
I hope he will, I like the idea of being a young grandma

Yossef

Today, after reading about him on Yifat's blog, I came upon this sweet movie showing Yossef the puppet signing books on the last National Isreali Book Week. Yossef and his long time operator, Roni Mosenson-Nelken, who is an acclaimed puppetry teacher, wrote a wonderful book discussing the art of puppetry, the philosophy behind it, and the relationship between puppet and operator. The moment I saw it on the book store I knew that a - I must have it and b - I'm SO stupid I didn't write it myself (but I am not really angry, my book is in the works. I am simply sad I am not the only one who can write such a book so beautifully. Big ego you know).

Israeli puppetry and art lovers, this book is a must! I wish I could have my signed by Yossef.. I also think I should take a course tutored by Roni, maybe a summer school thing?

"Do you know how to sign? Simply scrabble something
and say it's a signature, that's what grown ups do"

Experimenting in a new field

My devoted readers probably noticed I have been complaining about lack of inspiration, or more accurately - a lack of drive to create (though I have several ideas for projects, and received some wonderful ideas from you, my dear readers). This, combined with a phenomena I recently got aware of, drove me to get my hands on a new endeavor - earrings making!

There are several jewelry makers on Etsy I follow and admire who I found out are not goldsmiths or silversmiths, but actually are buying ready made jewelry parts and putting them all togeather, while charging high prices. That annoyed the hell out of me, especially since I just spent a large amount of money on one of these shops. I decided I am going to make myself the earrings I like from now on, and then decided to also sell them - at a much better price than the wannabe jewelry smiths I previously looked up to.

So, I am proud to present the first of my new earrings collection! I am selling them on SharonArt, since they do not fit on Raisinlike, which is a much sillier shop.

I hope you like them as much as I do. I am not used to such delicate work but I am quite pleased with how they turned out!

I am proud!

Happy weekend all! I plan to do absolutely nothing this weekend. In fact, It's after 4pm and I'm still in my pajamas.

I wanted to introduce to a new Etsy shop I am especially proud of -  Orit Hadad's handmade jewelry shop.

Orit opened her shop after purchasing my Etsy for Hebrew readers - Everything you need to know on opening and maintaining a successful Etsy shop guides pack.  And what a great student she is! Check out her crisp photos and accurate item descriptions. She is already making successful sales, and I am sure she will have great success with her shop. Yay Orit!

Crochet knitting fine silver lava stones necklace

Tzipi's first month on the road

Tzipi the world traveling Flutterbutt has been on the road for nearly a month now and it's time to look back on some of her adventures so far.

In Kent, Heather knitted Tzipi a wonderful cuddly cardigan and took her to her favorite childhood dream fortress. Later, she got to meet a local celebrity.

In London Tzipi enjoyed some free time at Nathalie's home and later went on a long weekend in Brussles, where she made new friends. Nathalie also made her a handmade necklace!

And today, she arrived to Scotland, where she has a villa of her own all setup for her. I find it hard to believe she will be willing to leave her new residence, but we will have to wait and see what more Tzipish adventures lie ahead!

A warm thank you to all the hosts so far, you guys are the best (and obviously, some of the silliest as well).

Whatever shall I do?

I am going through a little wave of blah, which is much like a tsunami, only it covers you with an overwhelming sense of blah (which, you must agree, is way better than walls of water). Still, if it was water instead of blah, I would not be worrying about my shop.

I want to come up with a new and exciting product, but all I can think of is blah as well as a little "munch munch" every now and then. I think the only thing I've done successfully these past few weeks, outside of work, is gain weight.

Tea time
I am all dried up, let's eat!

So I am calling out for help - if you have cool project ideas for me, or a source of inspiration which always helps you, or anything else you would like to share - please comment!

Leap year babies galore

This year, there is no 29th in February so my birthday spreads across both the 28th and the first of March. I admit I had better birthdays in my time, and am not the most cheerful person these past couple of days (and getting less cheerful by the minute, as the garage manager calls every once in a while to tell me what else he found wrong with my car and how much it costs to fix it). Add to that the fact I am no healthier than I was last week, and you can imagine how thrilled I am.

Luckily, the bad weather delayed the official birthday celebration to the weekend, which allows me plenty of time to pout. And I got some lovely birthday thingies to cheer me up.

This is the cake my mom made me. The decoration is a bit off, cause she lost her special tool but I love it, and it is so yummy!

My birthday cake

There was also birthday cake at work, and another at lunch so I expect to gain a few grams this week. Apart for cakes, I got several cool DVD's from friends in different countries, as well as these amazing earrings and this silly summery bag. I also got a milk foamer from my brother (he took his daughter with him to buy me a gift, and she said they should buy me something for drinking coffee).

I created a special Happy Birthday Fluttergirl to celebrate my annoying birthday, and she is now available on my shop.

Happy Birthday Fluttergirl

I also made another Flutterbutt on Saturday, whom Junie named Roxie. She has lovely detailing and comes with her very own overnight bag!

That's it. Not bad for a grumpy old woman, eh?

Before I am done, you will find the accounts of Tzipi the world traveling Flutterbutt's adventures in Kent on the sidebar to the left. Next week, she is going to London. Want to support Tzipi? Grab a button (also on the sidebar) for your blog!
