Tomorrow (Thursday the 12th) is my last shipping date before my shop goes on vacation. I will be dragging my feverish head to the post office in the afternoon, so if you want to buy anything and have it shipped to you before November 22nd, that is your last chance.


No worries. There is still plenty of time to ship in time for Christmas after the shop reopens. But if you want a custom item made, please order it ASAP so I have time to complete the order by my last global shipping date for the holiday.

Who wants to be a milliner?

Obviously I do, since I have been spending last night making new headbands. Birdy ones too - with tiny wonderful mushroom birds, and slightly larger nested birds (with tiny eggs as well). They turned out so lovely, if I may say so myself, and today I spent the last hour of light shooting my beautiful friend modeling my creations on her wonderful curly luscious red hair.

Happy weekend all! How is your weekend going?

I am bored to death. I have tons of things to do, but don't feel like doing any of them. I also intended to make new headbands, but the main supply (i.e. the headbands) is late to arrive from the states. What a bummer..

My shop is not bored though - it is busy getting ready for the holidays!

Weekend sale - Buy one get one 50% off

This weekend (Ending Sunday the 8th) on my shop, you can buy 2 items and only pay 50% for the cheaper of the two. This is a wonderful chance to buy holiday gifts for a good price, or even better - buy a gift for your loved one as well as one for yourself!

I will refund you via Paypal once you paid, unless you want to convo me in advance and let me know what you plan on buying, so I can revise the price in advance. Whichever you find more comfortable.

Note - Due to time zone differences, it may take me a few hours to refund you so don't worry if you don't hear back from me within the hour.

Custom orders

I am accepting custom orders for Christmas till November 14th (after that, you will have to use express shipping, which costs about 28$ extra).

Custom gifts options include - full size hand puppet, mini hand puppet (last year I made several of these - both tree toppers without the moving mouth and as gifts for men) Flutterbutt (doll or puppet mobile). I can also make you a custom hand painted greeting card or anything else you want from my variety of products. Convo me on Etsy, use Alchemy, email me, or leave me a comment here for details. The prices on the ready made listings are a suggestion. Sometimes your order will cost less or more, depending on its complexity.

Closing shop

The shop will be closed between 14.11.09 and 20.11.09 so please consider this when planing your holiday shopping.

Holiday shipping guidelines

These are my international shipping deadlines for the upcoming holidays:

• Thanksgiving Day 26.11.09: Last international shipping date is Monday 9.11.09
• Hanukkah Eve 11.12.09: Last international shipping date is Monday 23.11.09
• Christmas Eve 24.12.09: Last international shipping date is Sunday 6.12.09

What's up with my ranking plunging down?

I just noticed my Etsy shop ranking went down from 3/10 to not available. I assume this is due to Etsy recently changing the unmasked shop URLs from those with a number at the end to www.etsy.com/shop/[your shop name] as part of their recent strives to comply with SEO trends. You can still get to your shop by typing [your shop name].etsy.com but as far as search engines are concerned, I guess the longer link is what matters.

According to this, it will take search engines several weeks to update their page ranks. I hope this means that next month my ranking will return to its usual, but still - damn it. Why do it now, just before the holidays?

Ye ole traveling Flutterbutt

ldWhile discussing this and that this afternoon, Nifty gave me an amazing idea

I am going to make a special world traveler Flutterbutt, and send him or her out to the world to have, log, and shoot wonderful Flutterbuttish adventures!

Problem is, I have no idea how to make this happen. What I need, I suppose, is a bunch of silly yet trust-worthy people who are interested in participating in this silly venture.

Would you be interested in hosting a Flutterbutt for a few days, taking it all sorts of places and documenting your adventures before shipping him/her to a new location?

Please let me know if you are.

לאחרונה יש לי הרבה קוראים חדשים, שלאו דוקא נתקלו בי באותו מקום ערטילאי המתקרא "החיים האמיתיים". עבורם, ובפרט בשביל אלה שעוקבים אחריי בטוויטר, חשבתי שכדאי לפרסם מונחון קצר לשרונית מדוברת. אם מי מחבריי נזכר במשהו ששכחתי, נא יוסיף בתגובות ואני אעדכן. מדי פעם אני אעדכן את המילון, לנוחיות המשתמשים בי.

• יוגמה - רגש או תחושה קשה של יאוש. מקור המילה משילוב המילים יגון ועוגמה.

• מיטל\יעל - כינויי גנאי לנהגות שעדיף שלא יעלו על הכביש. שתיהן נוהגות מאד לאט, יושבות קרוב מאד להגה, ולא יודעות מהחיים שלהן. ההבדל הוא שמיטל סתם מעצבנת בעוד שיעל עלולה להרוג אותך (היא זאת שנוסעת באור אדום או גולשת מהנתיב שלה באיילון בהילוך איטי).
• ממישה - אמא שלי.
• פפישו - אבא שלי (זכרונו לברכה).
• פומסקי - האחיינית שלי.
• חביבו - האחיין שלי.
• שופלין - דבר טוב. לרב מגולגל וממולא במלית טעימה.
  
• למען השם! - קריאה השגורה בפי פינקי, לרב כמתכונת העברית של Like, Duh. עשויה להעיד גם על זעזוע עמוק ממעשיו או דעותיו של הוא זה. לדוגמה - חמוטל שואלת אם אני אגיע לברית של בנה הבכור מחר בערב, אני עונה "למען השם!".
  
• שמנוניות - או כל מילה אחרת על משקל "קדמוניות" של יוספוס פלאביוס גורמת לי להרגיש שמחה וצופנת סוד.
• תחש - יונק נהרות שחור לבן שאוהב לאכול כריכים. משמש כיופמיזם למגוון רחב של מילים שהשתיקה יפה להן. לדוגמה - קיביניתחש.
  
• למה לא למה לא - קריאת אישור והסכמה.
• בטח בטח למה לא - קריאת בוז.
